Arequipa & Colca Canyon  Package -  4 Days / 3 Night =  Extension from Cusco or Lima  

Day 1 -  Arequipa.  

Arrival to Arequipa, reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel.  Balance of the morning at leisure.  Afternoon city tour of Arequipa and Santa Catalina Convent. Arequipa, also called the «White City» for its beautiful buildings made of pearly volcanic rock, was also an important colonial city. With its fine baroque art, beautiful colonial architecture and gilded churches, this city vividly illustrates Peru in the age of the Viceroys. Arequipa is home to the Santa Catalina Convent; the most fascinating colonial religious complex in the country, with the architecture, religious art and furnishings of a world that seems to have stood still since 1579. Overnight at the hotel of your choice in Arequipa.

Day 2 - Arequipa - Colca Valley.

Breakfast at the hotel.  Early morning departure (4-hour drive) to the Colca Canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world and twice as deep as the Grand Canyon.  The excursion to the Colca Canyon will take you through several Andean villages, scenic lagoons, natural thermal springs, as well as Andean plateaus where alpacas and vicuñas can be seen in their natural habitat. Overnight at the lodge of your choice in the Colca Valley.  

Day 3 - Colca Valley - Arequipa.

After an early breakfast, an excursion to the «Cruz del Condor», where some of the world’s largest condors can be seen carving lazy circles in the sky. The spectacular terraced Colca Canyon features the most extensive Inca and pre-Inca terracing.  Along the valley there are several villages whose habitants are involved in farming and still use this ancient agricultural technique today– life has hardly changed through the centuries here.  We will enjoy some excursion time through the highlands, and later, we will start our trip through the Andes peaks back to the white city of Arequipa.   Day 4, Arequipa ? ………. Buffet Breakfast served at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board your morning flight to the destination of your choice.
